Product / process MVP

Validate the product, the scan, the pattern-making, the manufacturing process and the customer experience.
Goal · a product and a process ready to face the market.
Series 01 · Support PUTCH
Eleven years of obsession with a simple idea: clothing that adapts to the body, and production that adapts to demand. Today, PUTCH is entering its creation phase — and you can write its first chapters with us.

Pierre-Emmanuel Saurais, founder
01 · The beginning
“Not your size.” “Stock is expensive.” “There’s no other way.”
Sitting next to a fitting room, I watch the back-and-forth between racks and cubicles. The waste of time is glaring. And being generously built, I know it well: every fitting is a compromise — a good fit or long enough sleeves, never both.
Then I discover an absurd reality: up to 40% of the clothes produced are never worn. As a Lean engineer trained in the Toyota Production System, I couldn’t leave that problem alone.
In 2014, I do what I know how to do: take a small step. I buy a trouser pattern. What followed was eleven years of obsession.

A first intuition: start from the real body to design the garment, rather than trying to squeeze everyone into a standard size.
The idea is there. It will wait for its time.

Three months to go from idea to reality: sewing machines, two people trained and the first pieces produced. Feasibility starts to take shape.
But the technology isn’t ready yet.

In Portugal, we try to produce differently, piece by piece. The factory turns the model down… before offering, almost ironically, to sell itself to us.
The model exists. The means don’t, yet.

One late afternoon, almost by chance, Willy Fantin listens to the project and believes in it. A few words are enough: what seemed tucked away in a drawer comes back to life.
PUTCH starts taking shape again.

Guillaume Tetu joins the adventure as a sparring partner. He challenges the project, helps it get structured and finally decides to commit to it alongside me.
This time, the adventure can really begin.
People are scanned, their patterns generated, their t-shirts cut, sewn and then tried on. Every body teaches us something and moves the model forward.
This is where you come in.
02 · The trajectory
Seven steps: prove, validate, produce, expand, embody, deploy, then tip the model over.
August 2026
Validate the product, the scan, the pattern-making, the manufacturing process and the customer experience.
Goal · a product and a process ready to face the market.
January 2027
Launch a first crowdfunding campaign for the men’s line: made-to-measure t-shirts and polos, pre-ordered from the scan. Every pledge becomes a firm order.
Goal · validate the market: prove that customers pay for clothing made for their body.
2027
Structure production with crowdfunding capital: machines, industrialization, quality, lead times, costs. In parallel: PUTCH DNA, marketing, community.
Goal · move from prototype to repeatable system.
2027
Open PUTCH to women with a second campaign: patterns designed for female body shapes, developed with the PUTCH LAB community.
Goal · extend the model to every body shape.
2028
Develop the PUTCH app and prepare the first concept store in Switzerland, if revenue targets are met with Portugal-based production.
Goal · turn the experience into a retail model.
2029
Roll out the model gradually across several European countries: local production, mastered customer experience, engaged community.
Goal · prove the model scales.
From 2032
Deploy the model internationally. This milestone marks the moment when PUTCH proves its system works at scale.
Goal · trigger the pivot of the textile industry.
03 · Join the PUTCH LAB
Four concrete ways to move the Prove stage forward: turning the first scans, fittings and crash tests into a solution that is reliable, desirable and ready to grow.
